Friday Finishing---My Knit Shawl

I finished the knit shawl except for weaving in the loose end threads. Still haven't found the skein tags but will do soon so I can share! I used 2 hanks. Final measurements unblocked are 79 in x 16 inches!

All garter by increasing from bottom up KFTB on each end of the row.

I have a shawl pin that will work well or simply will tie it in front.

I love the way it turned out. The color. The softness. The small amount of mohair in the yarn. The size and most of all the joy of stitching with Knitter's Pride Dreamz circular needles! (#15)

Pictures forthcoming tomorrow after I weave in the ends for the final finish! I could definitely snuggle with this shawl right now as we are having Blackberry Winter here. It's quite rainy and cold outside and weather forecast for rain until next Wednesday.

Good stitching and reading time.

Till later,

Jennifer

Progress on my rosy shawl--Yellow, Rose, and Pink

My progress on a simple garter shawl. I cast on 30 stitches loosely then increased on each side KFTB all the way up  and I have one more skein to go. This shawl will be nice, light and airy as it has mohair in it. It will be secured in the front by a shawl pin or a simple tie.

I started this one 2 days ago when Mr. Darcy and I started watching the DVD Scarlett which is a LONG movie. I've stitched last night and this morning when I really should be cleaning. I have misplaced the tag and hope in cleaning my yarn stash I can find it. It was on sale at Yarn Rhapsody in Gainesville, Ga.

One skein my hubbie and I made into a ball by hand. The other is machine-wound.
Same lot, 2 different skeins. I made Abbie a little scarf with this yarn.

This pic is really more of the true vintagey pinkish rose color. Abigail loved it as you can see.

I finished this one and stretched it's a nice 5 foot. I made it for my mother-in-law. I hope she likes it.
I started on it back on April 6th as you can see pis on the blog and finished it 2 days ago.

I found the One Row Lace Scarf pattern on Ravelry while on my trip to Washington and in fact played with the lace rows on a blue scarf section This one is actually done in Blue Sky Alpaca/Silk combo and light and airy. The yarn came from Looped in Washington Dc. I have 2 more skeins of this left and think I may make another scarf in the future with it.

Mr. Darcy and I had fun last night. He was craving a Lemon Pound Cake. I simply used the Duncan Hines recipe on the side of the box to make a bundt pound cake with lemon glaze and not thick icing. The glaze was put on while the cake was hot and soaked in the cake. This was the first time I used a box of lenon pudding in the cake and it really made it moist.
It was YUMMY!

So glad to be able to go to Knit group this week! Mr. Darcy is washing porches down with all the pollen I hope is finally finished. After the thick layer is washed I can see the porch is redwood again!!!!
